Safe Environments, founded in 1990, has been a leader in the quickly evolving field of fungal investigations and abatement. Over the past decade, Safe Environments has provided indoor air quality investigations and microbial contamination loss control (including mold and sewage losses) to thousands of satisfied residential and commercial customers. Although our focus is in serving Bay Area clients, we occasionally provide service throughout the Western States. Our staff of dedicated professionals include a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) and a Certified Safety Professional (CSP); and a Registered Environmental Assessor (REA). Our personnel are well respected in the fields of both indoor air quality and microbial contamination in buildings.
Fungal investigations generally involve:
1. Inspection to determine the physical extent of mold contamination.
2. Air, tape lift, bulk, dust sampling to determine the type and level of contamination, as well as photographic documentation for legal purposes.
3. Constructing a written protocol to safely remediate fungal contamination.
4. Overseeing the remediation contractor.
5. Conducting clearance testing, compiling data, and writing a clearance report.
Indoor air quality investigations generally involve:
1. Building inspection
2. Documentation of individual building related complaints
3. Testing and monitoring for relative humidity and temperature, air sampling for volatile organic compounds, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide and bioaerosols.
4. Inspection of the ventilation system.
5. Data interpretation.
6. Report writing and remedial recommendations.
